This is the perfect slip to go under a christening gown or little girl's heirloom dress. The neck edge and armholes are finished with narrow French lace edging and a very wide ruffle at the bottom is edged with wider lace edging. The slip can be made slightly longer than the dress, allowing that lace to peek out; this is especially nice in the case of scalloped or shaped hems where a shorter slip would create a shodow line behind the hem.
