Double-Scalloped Madeira Dress

a Martha Pullen Licensed-Husqvarna Viking Project

Martha Pullen writes about this project:

This glorious dress can be made for a baby's christening dress or a little girl's Sunday-best dress. The skirt has the most beautiful double-scalloped Madeira trim stitched to the dress with a machine Madeira appliqu&ecute; stitch. Delicately sitting in the center of the skirt is a tied lace bow attached with Madeira pin stitching. Beautiful machine embroiery designs are also on the skirt. The bottom of the bodice of this dress has another scalloped Madeira band on the front with machine embroidery on the center of the bodice. The gathered, puffed sleeves are finished with entredeux, lace insertion, entredeux and gathered lace edging. The neckline is finished with entredeux and gathered lace edging. What an unbelievable family heirloom this dress will be for someone you love very much.
