Madeira Windows Doll Dress

a Martha Pullen Licensed Project

Martha Pullen writes about this project:

The skirt of the basic to-the-waist dress for your 18-inch doll features a bracket-shaped hem edge with an organza border; organza windows are created with the reverse Madeira appliqué technique and a pretty embroidered bow is at the center of each window. The neck edge and short, puffed sleeves are finished with entredeux and gathered lace edging. The full-bodice organza bib is accented with machine embroidery and bordered with entredeux and a lace-edged organza ruffle. Satin ribbon ties hold the bib at the sides. Tiny feather stitch outlines the organza ruffle, bracket hem, and organza windows. A matching half-slip completes this darling outfit.
