a Martha Pullen-Husqvarna Viking Licensed Project
Martha Pullen writes about this project:
Many design features complement this beautifully tailored blouse, which is perfect to wear underneath a suit or open sweater. It would be just as cute worn with jeans since heirloom blouses are all the rage with young people. The machine-stitched granitos outline a front panel, and pin stitching attaches the laces to fabric. Two pieces of French insertion with a puffing strip in the middle are stitched in a V shape across the front panel, forming a yoke effect. Featured on the "yoke" is a center section of netting with a machine embroidery. Gimpwork outlines this piece, which is attached on each side to a piece of French insertion; the yoke is completed with folded tucks on strips of linen. Lace strips run vertically along the sides of the front panel with granitos on each side and double-needle pintucking is found on the lower center panel. Hemstitching and granitos trim the sleeves and a wing-needle placket is used to close the back of the blouse.
