Lace Cathedral Window Child's Dress or Christening Gown

a Martha Pullen-Pfaff Licensed Project

Martha Pullen writes about this project:

What a glorious, slightly-lowered-yoke-dress or white batiste christening dress! Displaying a brand new technique, lace cathedral windows, this dress is exquisite. The lace cathedral windows are also found on the sleeve. Beautiful white-on-white Martha Pullen embroideries for Pfaff are found on the front of the bodice as well as on the sleeves. Graceful lace loops are on the oval shapes around the skirt. A decorative machine stitch outlines the lace shaping on the whole dress. Entredeux and gathered lace finish the neckline and the sleeves. To make this dress a child's dress rather than a christening dress, we simply used a bit of color: yellow, pink and green. The bottom loops are the same and the center lace shaping is simply smaller. Yellow decorative stitching outlines the lace shaping.
